Amusing

You can't really tell what the picture is, sorry. I didn't know how to make it bigger once it uploaded.
Anyways, the picture is a collage of books. Books that are meant to be self help books. Titles run from 50 Things a College Student Should Do, 77 Things to Do Before You Grow Old, ## Things to do...., etc.
Really???? That many books just to tell you what you need to do? Seriously, if you read all of these books. You have pretty much a million things to do when you are a teenagers, a million more to do before you turn 20 years old, add a couple of more millions to that pile to do in college, etc etc. When are we going to have time to do what WE want to do? I imagine, one cannot construct a unique life for oneself, if this is the case where all of these "To do" books are being published at an astonishing rate. It's like these books are rabbits, just keep popping out.

Anti smoking?

Blog entry from the past

Click on the link real fast. Its not a video, nothing grand.
Before running this particular blog, I had another running that had to do with advertisements and things that were visually impacting.
This particular one has to do with smoking. It was an anti-smoking campaign photograph that I thought was really interesting. It still is, don't get me wrong.
However, it is mildly amusing to me that I put not just this one but two other anti smoking ads on that blog because I am a smoker. I have no idea what I was thinking.
I guess in the back of my mind I know that smoking is extremely bad for anyone's health and those around the smoker. It still makes me laugh that I had this up on my blog.
I probably would still go pro on anti smoking campaigns.
The thing is, I should stop and quit smoking. Doubtless, it is hazardous for me and people around me are usually against me smoking. I often tell myself to cut down and smoke less until I get to the point where I don't need/want to smoke anymore. Regardless of it all, I guess it is true. Smoking is the most addictive habit I have ever caught on to.

We made google maps in our Writing in Digital Environment class and at first I gave it very little thought. Of course, I thought that it was pretty interesting how one could use a simple program like that on the computer and expand it to a project of such volume. Then, once I was at home and taking another look at it, I began to realize how I could also do the same with other matters. What could be a small thing at first sight could be the biggest tool or have the biggest impact. I guess the smallest things matter. Even what you pass off as the simplest or the most negligible matter could be quite extroardinary.
what is the purpose of sight... if one cannot see?
this whole mind, this thought was on my mind and I kept tracing back and forth trying to figure out why this kept bothering me. Any thoughts??

Imagine yourself in this guy's position. This guy, Jay Park, was born and raised in Seattle, Washington. That being said, 4 years ago, he left his family, friends, education and everything behind in his hometown Seattle to travel to Korea to train to become a star. Without a doubt, he had no guarantees of becoming a star, let alone have a future at all in Korea. Yet, to persue his dreams he came to his native country. If I were in his position, this would have been one of the most significant decisions to have made in my life, and needless to say, the hardest. This guy didn't know Korean fluently and had never been to Korea.
Now put yourselves in his position, would it be so hard to understand what kind of loneliness and hardship this kid would have been in 4 years ago? With regards to this, would it be so hard to understand that he could have said some negative things about Korea expressing his nostalgia and his yearnings for Seattle and all that he left behind? I mean, come on, it was on Myspace. Whoever took Myspace seriously? Ever?
Up until about a week ago, this guy was the leader of the hottest boy group, 2PM, in Korea. He overcame all his troubles and training in Korea to become the most wanted celebrity with the group's own tv show. Their song hit the charts and was number 1 in no time in Korea. Every girl and even guys loved him. Then one post from his Myspace 4 years ago was leaked to the public in Korea, and it took matters of hours for this guy to topple over and crumble in the hands of the nightmarish Korean "netizens" (citizens on online).
I think this is ridiculous. Koreans are infamous for saying some of the meanest things through their monitors and keyboards hidden away. So many stars with huge potential have fallen victim to these monsters on keyboards. I thought it was just so sad to see such a great guy, who no doubt showed his love for Korea far more than that one little Myspace post.
What do you think??
